Superchunk – “Foolish” LP
Unhappy with Matador’s switch to a major label distribution deal in 1994, Superchunk did what any self respecting DIY punks would do and released their next album (and all future albums) on their own label, Merge. Recorded in late 1993, at Pachyderm Studios, by Brian Paulson and mixed by the band and Paulson at Steve Albini’s home studio. Foolish was completed shortly after bassplayer Laura Ballance and singer/songwriter Mac McCaughan, had broken up. You can guess the overriding theme of this album….
