Slow Fire Pistol – “Rabbit Town Blues” 12″
An interesting departure from the Triple B style of metallic, strengthened-steel, hardcore. Although members of Slow Fire Pistol originate from that scene (Foundation and Criminal Instinct), their sound runs a different (but parallel) course via a breast-beating style that is straight out of the DIY screamo-punk scene of the 1990’s. The sleeves are no longer hand-printed, and the recording is no longer an 8-track in someone’s basement, (and I don’t know exactly if this is what we call progress), but damnit, this does sound good – everything crystal clear, and all the dramatic upturns and downtowns are strongly defined. I gotta say, it’s fucking great to hear something like this (again) in 2021. No more pouring through old issues of Heartattack for you Discogs research – you can find it right here and now.
