Sirkka – “Viivyttely” 7″
Beginning life as a two-person recording project based in New York, Sirkka have now, in time for their five track debut recording, expanded to a fourpiece, albeit with members now spread across the US east coast and Northern Europe. Vocalist Sanja’s commanding snarl serves as further evidence that Finnish is the best language for hardcore punk. Consequently, the first choice of this band sounds like… is, no surprise, Kohti Tuhoa. The band, by their own admission, draw-up influence from their roots in early 80s US hardcore – SSD, Jerry’s Kids – along with their interest in the 80’s Finnish punk of Rattus and Kaaos.
