Sacrilege – “It’s Time To Face The Reaper. The Demos 84-86” Double LP
Not to be confused with the other bands who took the same name – this is the Sacrilege that matters the most. The true originators who went on to influence Napalm Death, Bolthrower, Nausea, Tragedy, Death Evocation etc. Their broader fame was as pioneers of mid 80’s UK thrash metal; while their origins, documented on this double album (incorporating all four of their demos) was rooted more in the anarcho punk scene, and their own influences were less metal, more Subhumans, Antisect, Discharge and, of course, Varukers (with whom they shared members). The early demos lean much more towards hardcore punk, while the later demos show the metal influence coming in stronger. This double LP was released with full co operation of the band, remastered for vinyl, with a fold out poster sleeve featuring original artwork from the 80’s and photos and flyers rarely, or never before published
