Regulate – Self-titled LP
The second full-length from this hardcore band from Long Island, New York. Featuring ten tracks showcasing an organic development in their approach to playing hardcore, taking-on a new, broader, musical styles, which almost inevitably draws a comparison to Turnstile, but to be fair to Regulate they have been active since 2013 and in that time they have forged their own distinct sound. If anything they have followed Turnstile’s example – on a couple of songs bravely stretching themselves into more musical territory. Whether the end result works depends on how flexible/tolerant your are with musical progression when it comes at the cost of losing (some) hardcore aggression. If you like fellow Long Islanders Koyo you will be happy.
