Pussy Galore – “Pussy Gold 5000” LP
Released in 1987 on their own Shove Records label following a move from Washington DC to New York City and the expansion of their line-up by taking on then 16-year-old Cristina Martinez (later Boss Hog) as a guitarist, and former Sonic Youth drummer Bob Bert. A five song EP of super-loose, lo-fi garage noise rock, recorded by Wharton Tiers (Unsane, Quicksand, Helmet etc.). Part of a New York tradition trash-punk that is still alive today in the form of Hank Wood and the Hammerheads.
