Public Enemy – “Fear of a Black Planet” LP
Released by Def Jam and recorded by Public Enemy’s own production team, The Bomb Squad, from various New York studios during 1989. The third album contains 20 tracks of the same righteous anger and furious energy as heard on the previous two, but with increased confrontation towards institutional racism and power elites; after touring with the Beastie Boys they were also inspired by the sample-laden Paul’s Boutique to add soul and jazz influences.
