PMS 84 – “Easy Way Out” LP
An eight track debut LP by Portland, Oregon punks PMS 84. Often described as Oi! and UK82 influenced punk – which I get, to some extent, especially in the gruff style vocals – but with the speeding drums and big chunky bass lines, I’d say they share much more in comon with the (less retro) hardcore style of their previous bands: Vivid Sekt, Moral, Lifeform, Koward, Petite etc.). This is fast, furious political protest music, that manages to take an old tried and tested formula and make it sound invigorating, fresh and timeless.
