Pillsbury Hardcore – “Ghosts Of Straight Edge Past” LP

A band from Pomona, California that formed in 1984 and disbanded in 1988. Kind of grouped-in with early US straight edge and inspired by the early 80s Washington DC and New York hardcore movements, but with a slightly less aggressive Southern Californian vibe. Featuring the distinct bass-playing of Eric Wood, fresh out of Peace Corps, and now teamed up with the Connell brothers – a trio that later went on to form Pissed Happy Children, Neanderthal and Man Is The Bastard.
This album is the complete 1985 recording session from Casbah Studios in Fullerton, California, engineered by Chaz Ramierez (Social Distortion, D.I., Uniform Choice). 13 tracks that originally appeared on the In A Straight Edge Limbo 7″, Budget Ranch 7″, and the three tracks from the Empty Skulls Vol. #2 – a compilation LP that also included Corrosion Of Conformity, Crude SS and Legion Of Parasites, and released by Fartblossom Enterprizes (a label run by Pillsburys Hardcore’s guitarist Bob Durkee).
A deluxe package, including literally dozens of inserts – stickers, flyers – released on Black Claw Records, which is run by founding member Shawn Connell.
