Open City – self-titled LP
Hardcore punk band from Philadelphia, PA. featuring ex members of Shake Ray Turbine, Hammered Hulls, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, Paint It Black, Bridge and Tunnel, Kid Dynamite/Lifetime etc. Ten tracks of dynamic post-hardcore with Rubino’s (Bridge And Tunnel, Worriers) wide-ranging vocals fluctuating from shouts and screams, to melodic hooks. Heavily influenced (by my reckoning) by Sarah Kirsch’s bands, (John Henry West, Torches to Rome, Bread and Circuits, Fuel, Mothercountry Motherfuckers).
