The Normal was music producer Daniel Miller, a film editor at the time, but who is now best known as the founder of Mute Records (this was the very first release for the Mute label). Influenced by J. G. Ballard’s novel, Crash, Kraftwork, and the first wave of punk rock. A pioneering and influential recording that went on to influence and inspire countless snyth bands, not least, Duran Duran!
