Modern day heavy, progressive rock from this California-based instrumental three-piece who have been active for seventeen plus years – plenty of time to fine tune their complex musical athletics to an absolute precision. ‘Cinematic metal’ – It might not be for everyone, true enough, but n’owt wrong with indulging in some super-tight, musical dexterity and brain-tripping complexity now and then. Especially when it takes you somewhere special, way up outside of yourself. Thirteen instrumental songs (with occasional sound clips), taking tropes commonly recognised amongst other progressive bands – Trail Of Dead, Mastodon, The Mars Volta, Blood Incantation, Elder, Russian Circles etc. – and rebuilding them into exciting new shapes and forms to suit their unique template. From The Gallery Of Sleep is the second studio album, it was released in 2018; a third album came out in the Spring of 2024 but it is flippin’ expensive, and I prefer this earlier, heavier album. Shred-away, my sweetlings, but keep it heavy.
