Many an adventurous explorer of musical history has stumbled into the trap of buying a full-length LP by Detroit’s garage punk pioneers Motor City Five expecting to have their minds blown while also expanding their knowledge of essential, ground breaking, freak acts of rock’s history – only to discover a disappointing collection of hit and miss tracks; MC5 were not an album band, and blimey, when they missed, they really sucked.
