North Carolina’s Magnitude return, four years since their debut, To Whatever Fateful End – an album who’s popularity has grown in stature ever since, so expectations for their second full-length are running high. As before, this hits the sweet spot for anyone like myself who was a fan of metallic straight edge hardcore in the 1990s (Undertow, Worlds Collide, Damnation A.D., Snapcase etc.). They have nailed the crushing grooves, the desperate urgency, and the inflamed passion, with absolute precision. And the guitarist, especially, has figured-out the chugg technique down to a ‘T’. He is one chuggy guitarist. Superb. The vocalist’s words address everything from confronting your fears to staying true to yourself, animal rights and environmentalism, and the mental toll of the Information Age. This is the yellow vinyl version, exclusive to Rev and limited to 250 copies.
