The Locust – “Safety Second, Body Last” 12″ EP
Co-released by Ipecac Recordings/Radio Surgery in 2004 as a follow-up EP to their album, Plague Soundscapes. Now repressed by Three One G for 2022. The concept behind this 12″ EP is one 10-minute song split into two tracks, each of which is further dissected into separate movements. The result is a surreal sci-fi onslaught that mashes-up electro experimentation with math rock and grindcore, ending up like a mix of Swing Kids, Arab On Radar, Nasum and US Maple. The cover art is a piece titled “Treatment” by Neil Burke of Men’s Recovery Project.
