Leatherface – “Viva La Arthouse (Live In Melbourne)” Double LP
One of the greatest double-guitar acts in the history of punk rock! Sunderland’s finest documented here on a 18 track double live album recorded in Melbourne in 2010. My knowledge of Leatherface is limited to the early years, and I recognise a few tunes from Mush (and Hops and Barley – a Wat Tyler song if I remember correct!?), and the sound on this recording is so vibrant and tight it easily matches their early ’90s gigs. Definitely a return to form, if not even better and more polished than before (Hell, this has far better production than some of their studio LPs!).
A fine tribute to a very fine fellow.
