L.O.T.I.O.N. – “World Wide W.E.B.” LP
New York hardcore of the Toxic State variety (i.e. not at all NYHC), with added electro madness. Comes in an impresive silkcreened multi colour sleeve, with insert and a large hand screened poster. Hard beats, awash with distored guitars and nasty gargled vocals – essentially an industrial record, but thankfully, the hardcore sensibilities steer it way clear of the self-indulgence that marrs so much of that genre (you get brevity, and crucially, you get songs. Bold, stomping gurt songs). All in all, pretty mental – garanteed to empty the dancefloor (as you would hope), and most probably destined for instant cult status.
