Portland, Oregon’s reluctant King Of Punk teams up with a gang of Dutch street punks – who normally operate under the moniker of Savage Beat – to make a glorious homage to 70’s proto-punk and 77 punk. True to the name Kings Of Oblivion there’s a top calibre cover of the Pink Fairies’ “City Kids” (along with a few other covers by The Shit dogs, Blitzz, and Bonnie St. Claire And Unit Gloria – the last two are Dutch bands of the 70’s, ten out of ten if you already knew that). The well-trained musicians are tight and energetic enough to deliver these hard rocking tunes bang on time, while Jerry A proves himself to be one punk’s finest frontperson, yet again. Class.
