Jeromes Dream – “The Gray In Between” LP
Since reforming in 2018 this San Francisco based band – who shared a history with bands like Orchid, Reversal Of Man, Saetia etc. – has continued to pick up momentum, steaming ahead with the release of their third full-length. What feels like a progression in terms of energy and intensity is also paradoxically a step back in time to the band’s screamo/hardcore of the 1997 to 2001 years. This is way more screamo than the previous two albums, and all the better for it. I wouldn’t dismiss those previous two records, they are decent noise rock in a discordant/Unwound vein – but if you dig the old school Skramz of Jeromes Dream, you need to get on board with this one. An album that introduces Sean Leary of Loma Prieta on guitar, and was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jack Shirley.
