Jaded Eyes – “Hatespeak” 7″
Old-time scenesters from Leeds, helping themselves to a healthy-size serving of the mid-80s American hardcore pudding. I’m hearing a definite Governement Issue influence in the the hookiness of at least one song; while the vocals have an edge of angry frustration that conjures-up Vic Bondi from his Articles Of Faith days. All the while stearing well clear of becoming a retro act – from the sleeve photo, I’m recognising faces from the more recent past, like Voorhees, and The Horror, for starters – and the overall sound and production is contemporary and sparkely-fresh.
