Hirax – “Raging Violence” LP
The 1985 debut album by L.A.’s legendary thrash/speed metalheads, back in press, nearly twenty years since the last version was made available on Deep Six Records, (and nearly forty years since its original release on Metal Blade Records!). A great example of the embryonic “Crossover” trend that was evolving in 1985. Heavy metal disrobed of its more theatrical flamboyance, and instead played fast, rough and raw, done in true DIY/punk dedication. Front cover art was done by Pushead, and Tom G. Warrior of Celtic Frost designed the Hirax logo. Enough said. Play loud or die.
