Green Lung – “Woodland Rite” LP
A repress of the debut full-length from 2019, released on the Berlin-based label Kozmik Artifactz. Eight slabs of doom metal from this London five-piece, with an undercurrent of pastoral-flavoured psychedelia; an equal to Monolord and Electric Wizard on the heavy scale, but playful Wishbone Ash/Sabbath old school influence to lighten-up the tone while still maintaining the menace of the dark folk-horror vibe. A band called Green Lung; and album called Woodland Rite; tracks with titles such as: “Let The Devil In” and “The Ritual Tree” – it’s all pretty self-explanatory, really.
Comes in a fantastically illustrated gatefold sleeve, with an equally impressive 12″ booklet inside.
