The fourth studio album by the Dorset doom legends, a step-up in terms of the bands tightness and studio production, it’s also the last of their recordings to feature the Wizard’s original three-piece line-up (before Tim Bagshaw and Mark Greening went on to form Ramesses with Adam Richardson, original member of Jus Oborn’s earlier band, Lord Of Putrefaction), making this, to my mind, the pinnacle achievment and peak era for Electric Wizard. The Rise Above reissue is on double vinyl, with a bonus track, “Mother of Serpents”.
