Elder – “Omens” Double blue LP
A five song, 54-minute concept album that, according to the band, “mimics the lifespan of a civilization, and also reads as a commentary on our own society hell-bent on profitability at the expense of our own lives and environment”. The fith full-length album from Elder finds them heavied-up and further exploring the sonic terrain of progessive music (from the German underground of the 70s and the Pink Floyd/Rush back catalogue). Omens was produced by Peter Deimel (Anna Calvi, The Kills, The Wedding Present) and recorded at Studio Black Box in Noyant-La-Gravoyere, France. Lavishly (and expensively!) packaged in a gatefold sleeve with an 8 page booklet. This is the US version on Armageddon via Deathwish, stickered as ‘180G Blue’.
