Drive Like Jehu – self-titled LP
A highly influential landmark album from 1992. Following the demise of Pitchfork, and ahead of the formation of Hot Snakes and Rocket From The Crypt, there was Drive Like Jehu – super-charged post hardcore that took the DC sounds of Fugazi and Soulside, added a little Sonic Youth guitar-disonance, and then mixed it with the mathy and hectic flavours of the San Diego scene. This debut LP was also their finest moment. A career pinnacle for all concerned.
