The Dillinger Escape Plan with Mike Patton – “Irony Is A Dead Scene” 12″ep
After the unfortunate demise of Botch it was left to Dillinger to pick-up the mantle of extreme hardcore-metal and tour it around world. The original Calculating Infinity line-up had splintered, and so it was left to Mike Patton Of Mr. Bungle/Faith No More to fill-in on vocals during a pre-booked session at his studios in 2001. The resulting five tracks were a pivotal shift for the Dillinger Escape Plan’s sound and style – maintaining the sonic violence and crazed intensity, while adding further technical compexity and a twisted, bastardised rock influence. The EP contains three original songs and a cover of the Aphex Twin’s “Come To Daddy.” Now available again on vinyl.
