Criminal Code – “No Device” LP
Their debut full-length from 2013 and a record that by my reckonning has become something of a modern day classic. Traces of 80’s melodic (but frantic) hardcore punk, along the lines of Articles Of Faith and early Husker Du, mix it up with the reverby Wipers-esque flange-guitar that combined always made Criminal Code stand out from other recent post-punk influenced bands like Arctic Flowers, Longings, Spectres, Diat, Teremotto. They had/have a fine understanding of songwriting, too. A great record that should not be overlooked and neglected.
