Cress – “Monuments” LP
The return of an album that was originally released on Flat Earth Records back in 1997. Cress were/are veterans of the anarcho punk scene (ex members of Wigan’s Deformed) who reinvented their roots with a new, heavier/slower style, like Antisect and Flux Of Pink Indians melded to Killing Joke and Godflesh. To say they were Crass with a eco/green agenda might sound like a tongue in cheek word-play on the band name Cress, but there is some actual truth in it. And who doesn’t like munching on organic cress?
Remastered in 2022 at Enormous Door and repacked in a heavy LP Jacket with additional double sided Insert, featuring lyrics and collages. A one off repress of 1000 copies, split between three different labels.
