Corrosion of Conformity – “Animosity” LP
At long last! One of the titans of American hardcore punk (and also one of the titans of American thrash metal) made available again, the first proper vinyl reissue since the year of its original release in 1985. The pinnacle achievement of mid-to-late 80s metal-punk crossover. C.O.C’s second studio album (and I don’t think it is unfair to say that their debut, Eye For Eye, pales into insignificance by comparison) is a high point in the band’s lengthy career, from a brief but glorious period when they recorded and played as a three piece (check the Six Songs With Mike Singing 12″ for further proof). Merging together the wild energies of Bad Brains and Black Flag, with the technical prowess of straight-ahead heavy metal – culminating in unsurpassed devastation. This is a faithful reproduction of the original, complete with Pushead’s sleeve art (ach! not as sharp on the print quality. But close). Damn expensive, but these copies are at least on limited coloured vinyl.
