Description

Comus – “Diana” 12″ EP

One of the strangest progressive folk bands to emerge from the underground of the early 1970’s, fulling deserving of their cult like following. You may know them from the album First Utterance that was repressed and re-released in 2010 by Rise Above Records. A remarkable work of dark, esoteric weirdness. Completely acoustic, but woah, heavy too – described, uniquely, as acoustic metal, (as well as the more obvious acid folk). The track “Diana” is a deeply sinister tale of sexual pursuit/assault in a “steaming woodland” – pure pagan folk horror, and therefore ideal for fans of that sub-genre. The track was taken from First Utterance and released as 7″ in 1971 – repressed here as a 12″ complete with the two B-side tracks (neither of which featured on the album).
