Agnosy – “When Daylight Reveals The Torture” LP
Long serving London D-beat punks with their 3rd album. Cheerful buggers, you can tell by the song titles. I think I’m right in saying that Agnosy were born from Begining Of The End – which (I hope) means that Chris of Health Hazard (and countless other bands) is on the bass guitar (?). Crushing and dark in that epic Tragedy style that Profane Existence is becoming more and more associated with. There was a recent point in time whe this genre was becoming a little bit tired and cliched (the tag ‘stadium crust’ kind of spelled the end), with the end result the bands in question have seriously upped their game, taking on new influences, fine tuning the engine, and then coming up with monstrously good albums, such as this. Recorded at the Ranch Studio (an old farm building this side of Southampton – which is becoming more of a go-to destination for cool bands, rightly so), and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (likewise).
