ZOUNDS – “Can’t Cheat Karma” LP

Peering down a time portal someone kicked me from behind and down I fell and here I am hearing this. The second release on La Vida Es Un Mus’ reissue label, Sealed Records, a 14 track compilation of the five singles by the legendary anarcho-punk poet-warriors, Zounds. The debut single from 1980, Can’t Cheat Karma, was released on Crass Records, (which I think was the first non-Crass release on that label), and it still sounds vital and relevant in 2019, forever timeless. The next three singles were released on Rough Trade Records, and the final single, La Vacht Qui Rit was released on Belgium label Not So Brave in 1983. Buzzcocks/Clash influenced hippy-pop-punk for the underclass. A long overdue collection, and not a moment too soon – my WH Smith Ferro C90 Cassette (circa 1985) isn’t going to hold out much longer…
