Yleiset Syyt “Saitte Mitä Halusitte” LP
The nine song mini-LP from this old style hardcore punk band from Helsinki. Bringing back the desperate rawness and rage of an 1980’s international hardcore punk compilation. This has that same wild fevourish energy of early 80’s first generation North European hardcore, but, here’s the thing, Yleiset Syyt have been doing there thing for quite some time, maybe ten years now, and members are perfectly capable of flexing their musical muscle in other bands (namely Kohti Tuhoa and Foreseen) – so, my point is, this is not exactly bedroom teen punks figuring out there first two-finger chords. Far, far from it. Expertise abounds. They know what they’re doing, how to go about it and how to bring home the win, win, win… nine times in a row. As much as I appreciate brevity in hardcore punk, I could have seriously done with more than nine tracks of Yleiset Syyt on this ocassion.
