Without Love “Diminishing Returns” LP
Released in partnership with Southern California’s legendary hardcore label Indecision Records and the UK’s fledgling label Best Life Records, an eight track mini album from this relatively new UK hardcore band. A modern sound and style that relies on energy rather than metallic heaviness to convey their message – the urgency and frustration comes across most of all, more aligned to old school 90s straight edge, and far removed from the harder-than-thou bludgeoning of beatdown hardcore. And with an undercurrent of almost-melody – not overtly so, as in the melodic/sung vocals of, say, One step Closer, but more along the lines of Magnitude or Have Heart, instead.
