Description
Wheezing Maniac “Shade Through The Night Door” LP
A mysterious and enigmatic post-punk/hardcore adjacent band that formed in a Southern Californian desert town in 1987. They might perhaps have remained an overlooked, semi-obscure gem had they not moved to San Diego and got themselves included on the infamous H-Street’s Hokus Pokus skate video. In their time the band only released a few cassette demos and a split 7″ (with Fully Unnecessary Noise, in 1989), and this discography album complies all these 17 songs (recorded between August 1987 and October 1989) onto one disc. Fans of modern eggy-weirdo-punk (Uranium Club, Lumpy) etc.) should definitely check this out, as too should any fans of oddball, to-the-side-of-hardcore, outsider bands of the 1980s (Flipper, Art Phag, Artistic Decline, Meat Puppets, Big Boys…).
