Description
Industry – Self-titled LP
Berlin anarcho punks return with their second album, following-up their debut released on Static Age in 2024. Continuing their enthusiast celebration of 1980’s protest/post punk, picking-up a baton from those countless anarcho bands who took the darker, heavier tones that was Killing Joke’s great gift for the disenfranchised, spikey haired masses of the decade’s early years. A timeless platform for bands with plenty to scream and shout, it still works wonders for those who still want to deliver a message through their music. The churning chorus pedal guitar, the ranting vocals, and those essential tribal beats – with a stronger dependence on the toms, rather than the snare/high-hat combo – all helps further seal the deal, ensuring that this album is absolute catnip for anyone who embraced the back- catalogues of Spiderleg/Mortarhate at some point in their lives. Bad Breeding have been plowing a similar furrow for some years now, and yet Industry hit that Amebix-meets-Exitstance sweet-spot with a harder precision, making the old new again with fresh, exciting, reinvention and passion. Comes with a lyric booklet, complete with passages of thoughtful text. Does contain references to ‘The State’, and ‘The System’, for the satisfying sake of authenticity.
