“Yeah Man, It’s Bloody Heavy!! Volume 2” Compilation LP
The side-label of Rise Above records – Rise Above Relics – specialises in uncovering lost gems of the late 60s/early 70’s hard-rock/proto-heavy metal era of underground British rock. This compilation pulls together the near-lost recordings by ten ridiculously obscure, hard, heavy and hairy bands – tracked down via the old flyers, posters, fanzines, thanks lists, and back-pages of 1970s music weeklies. Deeper into the mists of time, beyond the bands we already know and celebrate: Sabbath, Deep Purple, Leafhound, Hawkwind, Groundhogs etc. Digging-up instead long lost and forgotten, never-before-issued treasures, such as Bonehead, Wicked Nun, Grind, Mind Exchange etc. An impressive act of dedication to the cause of heavy.
