Description

United Nations – self-titled LP

Released in 2008 through Eyeball Records, United Nations‘ controversal debut album. An occassional and secretive side-project for members of Thursday, Glassjaw and Converge. The original sleeve art – the cover of The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” album, with all of the Beatles engulfed in flames – immediately forced at least one major retail chain to destroy all of the several thousands of copies it had ordered, and the album’s entire pressing was then recalled, destroyed and repackaged with artwork presumably less offensive to Sir Paul and Co. It has since been remastered for this special deluxe vinyl edition and includes an infinite bonus track. The original artwork has been restored to its litigious glory printed on a massive 12 x 36″, full-color, foldout poster, inside a custom embossed (and numbered) old-style gatefold jacket that is curiously reminiscent of the original Beatles’ White Album.
