The Supersuckers “Smoke Of Hell: LoserĀ Edition” LP
At the peak of the early 90’s Seattle-alternative rock feeding frenzy, this was the Sub Pop record that stood out like nothing else – the debut album by Tucson, Arizona’s Supersuckers. Released in 1992, a total blast of speedy punk rock and roll, equal parts Ramones, Motorhead, and even a little Johnny Cash. The kind of raucous garage punk – thanks in big part to Jack Endino’s production – that was somehow elevated to glorious, anthemic stadium rock even if its natural home, truth be told, was dingy, back street, down-stair-dives. Daniel Clowes did the sleeve’s art.
