Station Model Violence self-titled LP
A new band from Sydney formed by ex-members of Total Control, Straightjacket Nation, Diat, Idiota Civilizzato, Den and R.M.F.C., and this is their impressive debut album. Post-punk, that vaguest and broadest of genre names, kind of covers it. Crisis get mentioned as an influence – but that’s not a band I’m overly familiar with. Whereas, for me, combine the sum total of band member’s previous activities, and that pretty much sums-up the sound of Station Model Violence. I’m also getting faint echoes of Magazine, Wire, Bauhaus and pre-punk, too, a la Neu! Totals-up to become one of the most delicious albums of 2026 so far (as of late June).
