Stäläg 13 – “In Control” LP
A Trust Records repress of the Nardcore band’s highly influential album from 1984.
With a history that can be traced all the way back to 1981 when original vocalist Ron Baird founded the band in Oxnard, California. Right down to the Love and Rockets/Jamie Hernandez artwork, this is early 80s Californian hardcore through and through – fast melodic hardcore punk from one of the big four Nardcore bands (along with Dr. Know, Agression, and Ill Repute). This is the yellow vinyl version, exclusive to Rev and limited to 500 copies. I initially resisted adding this reissue to the store because copies of 2022’s Dr Strange/Punk’n Vomit extended version were still in circulation, but now that the Trust version has arrived a few months after its release date I realise my error, and so apologies for the delay – this new version is more expensive, but for very good reason: with a 16 page booklet incorporated inside a lavish gatefold sleeve. In terms of packaging, one of Trust’s finest reissues to date. And the tracks are remastered, too.
