Description
Spiritual Cramp – “Mass Hysteria” 7″
The debut release by these San Francisco punks – borrowing heavily from the past, with echoes of late-’70s, early-’80s, working-class art punk (Gang Of Four, XTC, Clash, Wire etc.), Upbeat rhythms and bright, choppy guitars belie a dark undercurrent. Too angry and agitational for the tag of ‘post-punk’. This is quite old now – released in 2017 – but their popularity and notoriety seem to be ever increasing. Not too late to get on board. The buzz is on-going.
“I like them. I imagine them to be well-read, articulate, poor, able to lift fairly heavy objects with relative ease, and somewhat smelly.” (Razorcake)
