Somerset Thrower – “Paint Me To You” LP
Long Island’s Somerset Thrower’s 10-track follow-up to 2018’s Godspeed album (also on Dead Broke). An exciting high-octane mix of alternative rock (I find myself constantly thinking of And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead – I think it’s the vocals) and 90’s pop punk (Jawbreaker comes to mind especially – Dear You era Jawbreake… maybe even Jets To Brazil, too).
“…a sound that ranges from concise and melodic alt-rock to dissonant post-hardcore riffing” – is pretty on the money. A split label release between Dead Broke and Triple B (a relatively typical release for the former; less so of the latter).
