SIYAHKAL – “Corrupt / فاسد ” LP

Some seriously fist-shaking foot-stomping punk action by this Persian band (by way of Canada). Songs are sung in Farsi dialect, expressing concerns around the current situation in the Middle East: the fuckedupness of the islamic republic of iran; the fuckedupness of the united states of america, “…they shoot us in the street. They bomb us from the sky”. A five track mini-album that follows-up the Days Of Smoke And Ash album that Static Shock released in 2025, and it continues the band’s sonic assault of cathartic outrage and fury. Ferocious stuff, one of the angriest sounding bands I have heard in some time. And it’s well worth your time finding out how and why that is.
