Shellac – “At Action Park” LP
Continuing the musical and lyrical brutality of Big Black and Rapeman, for Albini’s next project he enlisted drummer Todd Trainer (Brick Layer Cake and Rifle Sport) and bassist Bob Weston (Volcano Suns). After two 7″s, At Action Park was Shellac’s debut full-length, released in 1994. Maturing without compromise, moving into more subtle and dynamic territory, and prooving that there was still plenty of scope for a rock band to carve out new sounds with a standard guitar, bass, drums lineup. Kept in press, on 180 gram vinyl, within the same folded, hand-pressed sleeve.
