See You In The Pit – Hardback Book
by Adam Mackintosh
A fanatstic example of DIY book publishing and photography as a means of documenting the excitement and buzz of a local small town hardcore punk scene. Adam Mackintosh has weilded his camera to capture the essential essence of the DIY shows put in by (Primarily) the Crew Cuts team in his hometown of Plymouth. A scene that punches well above its weight (considering its isolation from the rest of the UK) with shows that are alive with creativity, energy, fun, and like any decent hometown scene, with a serious-minded activism at its core. It’s a great, buzzing comunity of misfits and nutjobs, and this book of photographs, hand-numbered out of a print run of just 75 copies, gives it exactly the represntation it deserves. Bands – that include Ruined Virtue, Sex Germs, Bleaks, Bootlicker, Dry Socket and plenty of very cool local bands – are caught in action alongside (equally important) audience interaction and participation.
