Saves The Day – “Through Being Cool: 25th Anniversary Edition” LP
Their second full-length, it was released 1999, and has now given a 25th anniversary repress. Five youngsters with 12 tracks of sing-along, pop infused hardcore, in the same vein as the Get Up Kids, Piebald, Alkaline Trio, Shelter, Fastbreak and Lifetime (7 Seconds, too, of course), and consequently in league with modern bands like Anxious and Koyo. More commercial bands tried this style of indie-pop with an undercurrent of melodic hardcore and quite frankly they were all bloody terrible. Saves The Day, however, pulled it off with impressive success, and posthumous respect is due. This 25th anniversary edition includes a new embossed O-card sleeve with the original cover sleeve housed inside.
