Sarcasm – “War Song” LP
The New Tork City crossover scene of mid-to late-1980s is well documented – with classic albums by Crumbsuckers, Ludichrist and Nuclear Assault etc. But the overlooked underdogs are, it seems, Brooklyn’s Sarcasm – finally represented here by the ever-reliable reissue label, Radio Raheem, who have compiled their two demo tapes from 1986, (Man of God? and War Song), and all tied together with a bevy of photos and flyers. Lost to the annals of time (apparently, Americans didn’t get Scarcasm. ba-boom, tsk), Sarcasm were perhaps too ahead of their time, with members later moving on to play in Nausea and Maximum Penalty.
