RUBBLE – self-titled LP
The debut full-length from a Portland/USA based band who must have studied the Mortarhate back catalogue pretty hard as this has many echoes of 80’s anarcho punk. And in a good, reinventive way. With Rubble’s distinct female vocals it becomes hard not to mention the likes of Dirt, Lost Cherrees, A-Heads and Toxic Waste – but add a modern studio production, plus a stronger sense of melodic song-writing that helps balance-out the coarse, shouty-aggro vibe. Right down to the pen and ink cover/lyric sheet artwork and chunky Conflict-style bass sound, concentrated 80’s punk for a new day.
