Reigns “The Antigeist” LP
For their latest album the Somerset duo have teamed up with drummer Rob Ellis (from PJ Harvey’s band – going right back to the early three-piece years), plus AAA Gripper/Hey Colossus bassist Joe Thompson. The quartet line-up has pushed their sound away from the spoken-word/soundscape approach of the past in favour of more traditional song structures/singing. Hype sticker says it’s recommended for fans of John Carpenter, and Scott Walker, and The Human League, and The For Carnation… an unusual combo, for sure – but, blimey, dead enticing.
